Attenuation of Electromagnetic Waves by Vegetation
نویسندگان
چکیده
An analytical overview of research involving EM waves attenuation by vegetation canopies in the frequency range 100...10000 MHz is given. Brief descriptions of objects of investigation and typical biometric features are presented. The models of vegetation as a continuous medium and as a collection of scatterers are considered. Dielectric properties of vegetative material are discussed. The relation between electromagnetic and biometric parameters of vegetation is established. Methods of measurements of attenuation are reviewed. Available experimental data of attenuation are analyzed and the directions of future research needs are presented.

A New Technology of Vegetation Microwave Monitoring
The objective of this paper is threefold: 1) To present a working methodology for the combined use of modeling technology and microwave remote sensing measurements in the assessment of attenuation of electromagnetic waves by the vegetation cover; 2) To illustrate this methodology with computer calculations of the attenuation for various soil-plant formations; 3) To give a perspective of the dev...
متن کاملRadio Wave Propagation Through Vegetation
Vegetation is an indispensable feature of most outdoor wireless channel environments. The interaction between radio waves and vegetation has been researched for several decades. Because of the complex structure of the foliage, composed of randomly oriented trunks, branches, twigs and leaves, the involved physical process in the propagation of the radiowave through vegetation is complex. Accurat...

Stress waves contain useful information about the properties of porous materials; they can be recovered through different non-destructive testing methods such as crosswell, vertical seismic profile, borehole logging as well as sonic tests. In all these methods, it is crucial to assess the effects of frequency on wave attributes including velocity and intrinsic attenuation. The dependency of per...

Background & Objective: The necessity of using wireless communications and the use of electromagnetic waves in today's world is obvious to everyone. Using of these equipment and development of them, although have many benefits but causes some anxiety on the way in which they influence on environment. One of the most effective ways of decreasing the unwanted effects of these waves is using of t...

Introduction: The highest electromagnetic radiation pollution is related to the radiofrequency waves of mobile phones (1). Up to 70% of these waves can be absorbed by various tissues (2). Absorption of these waves can damage the body tissues by causing oxidative stress (3). Given that melatonin plays an antioxidant role, it seems that this hormone can have a protective effect on the hepato- tox...
